Monica is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and an International Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IADC). She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Mount Mercy University (when it was Mount Mercy College), her Masters in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University (Twin Cities Campus), and another Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema Studies and Media Culture from the University of Minnesota.
She treats individuals from age 16 on up with a variety of mental health needs, including depression and anxiety, but specializes in the treatment of addictions — substance abuse, gambling, etc. Monica’s treatment modalities include Brief Intervention Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
In her leisure time, Monica enjoys attending film festivals, reading, fly fishing, and traveling around the world for Sherlock Holmes-related conferences and events.
