Drew Martel is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in Mental Health Treatment, Crisis Intervention, and Suicide Prevention. Drew practices an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities, with particular interests in Existential Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the treatment of sleep disorders.
Drew's approach to therapy is grounded in building a strong therapeutic relationship, creating goals tailored to the client's specific needs and life circumstances, and fostering a collaborative environment. He works with clients to identify and work towards meaningful goals, supporting them in the pursuit of personal growth and well-being.
In addition to his work at Meadowlark, Drew is a site surveyor and trainer for The American Association on Suicidology and is affiliated with CommUnity Crisis Services in Iowa City.
A military veteran, Drew was born and raised in Cedar Rapids and lives there with his family. He is an avid runner, having completed multiple ultra-marathons, a hobbyist blacksmith, and enjoys reading.
